Full-fledge Wizard

For my last assignment, I was instructed to view over the magical moving pictures that other wizards created...I believe they were called videos. Strange magic indeed but very entertaining. I realize now that we are constantly growing and that magic never stays the same. I'm sure that soon another hopeful will come and learn to become a wizard as well. I was also given a tool that I could use to hear and record information that I recieve from my journies and others. This tool is called a Podcast...Now I am finally ready to leave the Enchanted Registar and journey throughout the kingdoms as a full-fledge wizard. I am excited and yet scared. This will be the last time that I can actually rely on others' help for now I am on my own. I am just very grateful for all the experiences I gained and the knowledge recieved from my training here. Therefore, I bid you farewell and good luck.

Writing Through Thought

It seems as if the world is spinning around faster than I have realized. Now there are parchments that you can actively record thoughts, adventures or even research and collect them in a manuscript that you can take with you everywhere. You don't have to even be in the Enchanted Registar to access it. Just take your quill and write it then place it in your manuscript binding and it will seal itself. They call this Zoho Writer...another strange name yet wizards are a peculiar people indeed. Also, there were other parchments that would give you directions to any place you wish to go simply by scribing your present location and then your desired location. It even listed certain transportation services around your local area that would help you get to where you wanted to go. There was another parchment that could signal a carrier pigeon that could speak in a human tongue and send you to the proper carrier pigeon you need to contact. This parchment were all these interesting facilities was called Google Labs. Finally, I looked at a parchment that was constantly writing itself. In this parchment it gave updates on other parchments that wizards liked using the best. They were organized according to 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place and honorable mentions. These sites have been recommended by wizards like myself as parchments that other wizards would find handy. I looked at some of these and a lot I already know of from my apprenticeship here. It seems amazing that I know so much now from when I first came to the Enchanted Registar.

Bookmarks and Future

I am coming to the end of my apprenticeship within the walls of the Enchanted Registar and learning how to go out into the world as a full fledge wizard. Today I was taught the essential importance of bookmarking my areas of interest so that others could read what I have written or find intriguing. I was instructed to read pages that other people have bookmarked so I delved into art and writing since those are my two main interests. I read about blotting out all the wishy-washy words when re-reading anything written to make it stronger. This program was called Technorati, an invention by a very strong and powerful wizard...I wonder where he came up with the name... I also searched through a book called Del.icio.us which is always constantly adding more and more pages from an invisible source. It collects many references or parchments written by wizards who enjoy specific subjects and bind works from other wizards together. This is essential for the wizard who wants to research on a specific craft but wish to find outlooks from more than one wizard or experience. It seemed very interesting. I read a bunch of sources from a news scroll about how parents shouldn't praise children on intelligence, rather, they should praise them for their effort. I can see why effort is worth more than intelligence because it means that even an average person, such as myself, can accomplish valiant things just by effort alone. Intriguing really.

After this, I was instructed to look through a scroll that spoke about a future Enchanted Registar that will consist of one solitary parchment that will magically update and open the entire collection of scrolls at a whim. It also spoke of enabling wizards to find anything they wish for whether they be lost scrolls or very newly written ones. It also will find the manuscripts you want fast and tell you where you might find them should you need to seek them out...I look forward to this new advancement.

A Wizard's Directory

Finally, I am allowed to scrawl my own name on the Wizard's Directory. This means that I am very close to becoming a full fledge wizard and a novice in the Enchanted Registrar. In addition to signing my name to the parchment directory, I had to state some facts about myself so as to prove my legitimacy and help other wizards locate me at all times. It was interesting. I was given a piece of parchment soley for speciliazing myself and my accomplishments and then I was order to join certain Houses (Networks) close to my abilities and thus create a relationship between the other wizards of this world. It is a relief that all of the threads of my research are finally coming full circle and I am one step closer to entering into a Profession I most enjoy.

OOC (means Out of Character): I thought I would add information that our little character Ian does not know. I already have a Myspace so I went straight to Facebook and created an account. Then I went to Ning and it reminds me a lot of Myspace except that it has specific wallpapers to choose from. I have yet to find out how to create my own wallpaper, which I enjoy doing. I just thought I would add this information because I do not know reallyhow to add it to Ian's world to make it sound believeable to his time.

World's Greatest Manuscripts

This Enchanted Registrar is truly amazing. I have learned so much and I am pleased to report that I am halfway to becoming a Wizard as well. My progress has been well tracked and I have learned so much of these mystical powers. Next, I was taken into the Archive room where thousands of manuscripts, even some in ancient languages, flew around on wings of gold. The lady there handed me a monstrous volume where inside I found the names of all other wizards alike. She told me that all wizards were registered into this place where they could search for any manuscript, read it and even write comments about their reading. Stoically, I penned my own name and found some manuscripts I had read when I was but a wee child. Touching them again helped me relive the adventures within their pages and soon I too was writing comments about the writing for all to see.

Once I left the room, I was taken to another place where I could create magical threads that tied places together. I took it upon myself to create one such magical thread and tied some of the places I have visited upon my travels that captivated both the importance and eclectic views of art and literature. This world and becoming a wizard is very fascinating for me and I cannot wait to see what next I learn.

((P.S. Visit Librarything.com and rollyo.com and look up GabrielGrey to see what I have put pertaining to these two websites. If these don't work just tell me in a comment and I will type the exact links. Thank you.))

Little Bug Flickr

The Librarian came up to me with a jar in her hand. She told me it was called a Flickr. Upon asking what it did, she told me that it captured paintings from all over the land and, once I mastered it, I could even capture my own paintings. Naturally, I was excited and took the bug she offered me. She also informed me that this was to be like a familiar to me, always accompanying me and that I needed to learn how to command it. So I set off, first telling it that I was his master and giving it a name. I just called it Flickr, seems appropriate enough because it dances with multicolored luminescent scenes of all the captured paintings in its glowing texture.

Once we familiarized with each other, I started studying it. Whenever I saw a painting I liked, the Flickr would broadcast it on the wall with its own magic. I could search for any painting so long as someone around the land had captured it first. Flickr even grouped these captured pictures for me in array of colors and mosaic tablets. Finally, once I became comfortable enough, Flickr helped me capture a painting of my own. I captured a painting of a soldier clad in armor, tattered from war, and placed him in a tablet where I incripted a message about how he defeneded the Enchanted Registrar. I believe I did a good effort despite the fact, I'm a novice and I hope that someone out there in the land will look upon my own captured painting and be inspired.

Furthermore, the little bug lets me show others my work. Therefore, here it is.

Research

The tasks the good woman told me helped immensely. I had no idea that the world was larger than I believed it to be. There is information about places across the land of kingdoms far more vast than the meager one I grew up in as a young child. I could trace any manuscript I wanted, find national events taking place in that particular kingdom and I even found more guides, similiar to the woman, who could help me with various researchs. Some even scribed information partaining to certain conditions that their own Enchanted Registrars lay in. I was surprised that there were other wizards, they were called Librarians and even Keepers of the Record, that could speak to me and answer any questions I had. Truly, this system is remarkable and I can not wait to delve further into it. I am thinking to stay on and study as an apprentice wizard so that I might one day help other wandering travels like myself.
